Frog Symbolism For many centuries and in many cultures, the frog is a symbol of luck. Some have attributed its close association with abundance to the vast quantity of eggs it lays at one time. The Irish consider the frog to be a close relative to the leprechaun who is capable of playing tricks at the most unexpected times. The Romans used the frog as a mascot who is said to bring good luck to the home. Lui Hai, the Chinese god of wealth kept a three-legged toad - a symbol of riches. Whether it is changing from a tadpole into a frog or from a frog into
a prince, the transformative ability of the frogs is also important.
